“Today, Parra beat Manly 29-20”
– This is what Rod said…when I asked him if he wanted to contribute anything to our blog! NOTE: This is after 2 weeks of me saying we should support Manly (or ANY other team) due to Parramatta’s continuous losses (it’s hard on a 5 and 3 year old when their team never wins!). Trust.

How am I going to cope with daylight saving?
I don’t do mornings very well, but tomorrow is daylight saving and I am REALLY dreading it! The boys have been waking at 6am these past couple of weeks - you know what that means tomorrow don’t you!? Yesiree, it means a 5am wake up! This is my coping mechanism….it’s now waiting right near the coffee machine for my early morning wake-up. If only I had a ‘coffee...

Little red shoes and a giraffe.
This is what happens when I need to wait 15 minutes for photos to be processed at the photo lab up the road! I go to the baby shop next door…   Dangerous. Seriously though, every girl needs a pair of red shoes - no matter what age! I also found a cute teething ring version Tahlia’s favourite toy - Sophie The Giraffe comes in a teether!!! Fifty dollars later, I picked up these...

We love rainbows! A colourful project.
When I saw this on Pinterest [here], I just KNEW the boys would love it. I also had the perfect place to hang it. Turns out I was right! (A rarity). We purchased two boxes of 64 Crayola crayons, removed all browns, greys, blacks and white, and then proceeded to pop all the colours in gradient order. We hot glued them onto a large canvas and then used a little craft heater (which I use for...

The girl loves pumpkin.
Notice the boy-bib…I dug them out of storage specifically for orange coloured food eating. Saves us ruining all her pretty pink bibs! However, not a speck of pumpkin on this one. I’m sure if it were a pink one, it’d be ruined! Funny girl.

Latest and greatest: 5 years I 3 years I 6 months
Here’s the latest on our munchkins: COOPER l 5 YEARS The stats: You are 111cm and weigh 19.6kgs. While you are a very tall little man, you seem to just keep growing up and not out! You have the smallest waist, so you still fit nicely in a size 4…but pant hems can sometimes ride up around your ankles due to your height. You still have a major issue with wearing button-up shirts (not...

Hayden dreaming.
Hayden woke us last night, insisting a snake was in his room. So at 2am, I trudged into his room and turned it upside down to proove there was no snake…he (luckily!) went to sleep after 5 minutes, with not much fuss. I freaked out this morning though, when this was the first news item when I flicked on the TV at breakfast! Freaky or what!?

Cooper: But he didn't forget yours, did he mum?
Me: (sigh)

Tahlia's 1st cupcake. ever!
Now, I’m not one to give babies sweets or bad food (Cooper actually didn’t even get to eat his 1st birthday cake - I was such a Nazi mum!). I usually make everything from scratch and have the blender going 24/7 (Tahlia actually knows the sound means food now!). However, when our family doctor said that a small mouthful of cake is a good way to introduce cooked egg to a baby, I thought...

Love this clip  →
It’s amazing how this 90 second video captures a beautiful miracle. I have watched this clip a zillion times and can’t stop smiling! What a beautiful way to be welcomed into the world. Such effort, but sooooo worth it. I almost want to be pregant again, just to create an amazing video like this! We are all a little big miracle! x

Learning 'Sight Words'
I don’t know how many times I heard the phrase ‘sight words’ when Cooper started school. I was a little afraid! Anyway, turns out it was basically 100 words which Cooper had to learn, and he gets 5-6 new words every two weeks throughout the year. His school uses Magic 100 and so far, he is loving it. We play a number of memory games, fishing, snap (daily)…but the...

Cooper - under the weather.
Cooper is home sick from school today…it’s his first day off school and he seems a little too excited about it! Afer I rang his school, he told me that he’d like to watch 3 DVDs (listed titles), build LEGO and eat some cupcakes outside in the cubby with Tahlia and me. Seems he has this day planned out a little too much for my liking! At least I am able to overdose on...

Tahlia's Baptism
Today Tahlia was baptised and we’ve never been so proud of our little girl. She did all the right things…grinning at the priest, cooing at her candle and smiling at the paparazzi. She even looked up at a statue of Jesus at one point and did the most magical smile. Here she is in the gown that all our kids wore for their Baptism. More photos to follow (once I sift through the 340...

the why....it began with a love letter.
Okay, Rod’s asking why I started this blog this week…and the answer is simple! Last week, I stumbled across a letter I typed up on the day I went into labour with Tahlia. It was the last time I wrote anything to any of my kids (apart from scribbles on our blackboard or a greeting card!). I realised that even though I share OODLES of memories and special moments with my children, I...

“Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to...”
– So, so, so true! Thank you Elizabeth Stone for summing it up perfectly!

this is me.
Well, hello there! I’m Katherine…an Aussie girl with parents that migrated from Lebanon. My parents and siblings are a HUGE part of our life, so you’ll no doubt see their mug shots appear on this blog fairly often. For the most part, it will be about things that we want to reflect on and share with our children…and a great way to keep family and friends updated on all our...
