Being a parent.
I just read this amazing excerpt from spiritual writer, Henri Nouwen, from his book, Here and Now. It struck such a powerful chord with me, that I woke Rod to read it to him {he was only 5 minutes into his sleep, so really didn’t mind - I’m sure}:
Children are a gift.
Being a parent is like being a good host to a stranger. While we may think that our children are like us, we are...

Life is too short to eat shit chocolate.
– Me. :)
Rod is getting a shirt made with these very inspirational Easter words…
Earth
Me: Oh, Cooper this is a great Library book! Hayden, do you know about Earth?
Hayden: Yep, I've been there.

Who would've thought...
When I walked into that pub, and you introduced yourself by spilling half your beer on my {new} shoes, that you’d still be paying for it, all these years later! Happy 9 year wedding anniversary husband xx

Here we go…
Back to fun school pick ups in the rain , with little people in tow!
You do NOT want to see a video of what this looks like when we make a dash for the school to pick Cooper up!
Let’s be clear - I’m not happy, and I know it!
Just stumbled across this video footage of my niece and Hayden at a Family Day hosted by Rod’s work. It’s fair to say Hayden got his grooves from his mother ;)
This clip makes me laugh out loud EVERY time!
Those Christmas lights are awful!
– As we do this time every year, we went for a drive around to search for beautiful lights. This was Hayden’s opinion of some Christmas lights on the way home from my Mum and Dad’s place last night. They were just white and grey. Clearly he wasn’t impressed with the lack of colour!

Nothing better than...

Rod: 'What has our life come to?'

Our little owl-eyes turns 1!
I can’t believe it. One!
{I also can’t believe it’s taken me 2 months to write about it!}
Tahlia’s 1st birthday was spent surrounded by our beautiful families. I think of a child’s first birthday as more of a celebration of the parents making it past 12 months, than the kid being a year old to be honest….so, much of the day was spent by Rod and I clinking...
The baby mop.
Look at what I just stumbled across!
If only they made this with a mop on the bottom area {not so much the knees}…for our little bum-shuffler!
Tahlia is still refusing to walk…she’s standing and pulling herself up, but those little feet are really happy to just tip-toe on the spot!

It is proven that 90% of violent criminals…can’t jump.
– Rod was just telling me about a presentation he heard today; where everyone in the room had English as second language…the presenter was going on and on about he we need to keep our kids active. This was one of her key points. Really!
I have just finished laughing, {till I cried}.
Thank...
Pie face.
We have been making home-made meat pies this week…and the boys just can’t get enough.
We have a Sunbeam pie making machine, so I just create the beef and mushroom mix, pop it into the machine with a puff pastry crust, and voila! Happy pie faces!
Nothing beats a good meat pie in my book!
